Primavera

Spring: She's here, in full swing. Yesterday, we took a walk around our little world and discovered so many beautiful bursts of life. The below photos were taken by Will and Leo (just manhandling my phone with sticky, clumsy pudgy fingers), lots of the findings were punctuated with genuine exclamations of delight.

Found this guy just blossoming out of the wall near the kitchen. Looked up one day and there he was. Reminder to look up!

This is our single poppy. We love her soooooo hard. We had another one and she died a hard death. (Not really, she just died) So when we discovered this one, it was like we had found gold. Hopefully she can make it a few days.

A half dozen cocoons have formed on the glass walls downstairs. Quarantine, what natural  metaphors are you communicating to us? Are you saying I'm coming out of it not as Tom Hanks from Castaway, but as a beautiful gorgeous butterly with non-gray hair? Cool.

Holy cow. Colette and Pedro live downstairs in the glass house and nature burst into their living space. Oh, hi Spring! I'm sorry, you want to brighten my life inside as well as outside?

Thank you,  Leo, for showing me that even the simple dandelion is so so so beautiful.

Flies are gross but Will is into them.

These guys, the chumbera, are everywhere. And they are dying. They were invasive and then another invasive species came through and started to wipe them out. There are many on our property and it seems like they are losing the fight. But then we spotted some flowers on one and renewed our hope they can hold on for a little while longer.

Both boys had a conniption fit when they saw the flowers. Again, world, please be cool to my children.

We have wild romero (rosemary) and we are so lucky.

Nature roars or quietly chirps. I hope all of you out there in your varying levels of quarantine are able to enjoy it. Spring's a beautiful gal and we are eternally grateful for her.
