Sierra Nevada
We escaped the Granada heat for a hike at the ski mountain resort in the Sierra Nevada -- 9000 m above sea level where the air was thin and fresquito. But first, we eat!
Insert eye roll here. Ok, Europe, we know you're better than the US in everything, but did you really have to have fresh paella at your 1 Euro buffet?! Please stop, we are well aware of your superiority.
We took a gondola up to the top......and then we took a chair lift to the real top. Temps dropped pretty low, but of course somehow Pedro was old friends with the chairlift operator (he knows everyone within 100 kms of Granada) and we were given a blanket to keep us warm on our ride up.
Normal that this was the boys' favorite thing about the day besides the 1 Euro buffet. Just a statue of a huge St. Bernard with a summer hat on. (Also, Pat is looking for an exact replica of this hat in case anyone sees it....please let me know immediately if you see a hat that like this....we have since been to every hat shop in Andalusia looking for one)
I guess the theme of the ski resort is sealife bc there were sharks and sea stars and octopus statues sticking out of rocks everywhere. I'm imagining doing a couple ollies on my board in that shark tube this winter.
We thought our day of adventure was over, but no! There was a mini amusement park on the grounds of the resort and then boys got to ride a little toboggan slide at 90 miles per hour a few times. Mama stayed on solid ground while Pat and Pedro screamed like children during their turns.
